Toronto, 2025

I recently had the pleasure of getting to travel (slightly) abroad for the first time while visiting Toronto for a work trip. Not the furthest north I've ventured by any means, but exercizing the passport for the first time was fun for the novelty.

Toronto was quite pleasant as far as metropolitan areas go. While I've never been "the city type", the area of town I was stationed in was quite upkept and quiet for the plethora of activities there were. The coworkers and I hit many, many bars and restaraunts during our stay- including the highly-acclaimed Library Bar in the Royal York Hotel. I can highly recommend the Sunflower.

Aside from dining I had the chance to attend a Blue Jays baseball game and Sceptres playoff hockey match. Being from Minnesota you'd figure I'd have attended a hockey game by now but this was my first one. Safe to say I'm hooked.

I spent one day by my lonesome, and stole some time away for pictures. I've loved every time I've used my Fujifilm XT-5, even if I'm still dialing in some settings, technique, and fundamentals. I haven't really discovered my photographic "style" quite yet, so this was a fun opportunity to shoot subjects I don't normally have the chance to.

I quite liked the coloring on these buildings with the particular film simulation I had applied. They reminded me of Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast.

I have a few more trips planned this year that I'm really looking forward to, including a short trip back to California later this month. I'm blessed to have as many opportunities to travel as I do, and hope to make more frequent use of my cameras to document the journeys and destinations.
